Summary: The State Archive and the Gambalunga Library in Rimini (Italy) will host the exhibition "Alea iacta est. Giulio Cesare in Archivio" (Julius Caesar in the Archive) curated by Cristina Ravara Montebelli (25 September - 25 November 2010). The exhibition is dedicated to the archeological and monumental "signs" of Caesar's presence in Rimini after crossing the Rubicon: the suggestum, i.e. the stone on which he stood to harangue his soldiers, and the bronze statue which portrays him, donated by Mussolini in 1933, and whose history is traced from 49 BC to our days. The exhibition is accompanied by a volume, including articles by Fabio Pesaresi, Michela Cesarini and Daniela Baroncini on the different themes treated in the exhibition, and several appendixes with documents and historical materials, including the section "Memorie di viaggio" which collects the memoirs of travellers who crossed the Rubicon following in the steps of Julius Caesar, and saw the suggestum in Rimini between the XVI and the XX centuries.
