Italian-English text. Exhibition held at Estorick Collection of Modern Italian Art, London. Summary: Giorgio Casali (Lodi 1913 - Milan 1995) is a central figure in the history of twentieth-century photography. From 1951 to the mid-1980s, for more than three decades, he was the select photographer for the greatest Italian architects and designers. Through his long-term collaboration with the international periodical Domus he was witness to the years during which Italy was crossed by a tremor of renovation destined to bring about radical change in some of its most characteristic aspects. This volume, prepared with material conserved in the Project Archive at IUAV University, Venice, and supported by close critical analysis, offers the first attempt to understand and define the complexity of his artistic personality through the narrative of architecture and Italian design, of which Casali left a memorable trace.
