From 6 July to 30 September, the Historical Complex of Santa Maria del Rifugio and the Abbey of SS. Trinità will be the venues of Leonardo and Cesare da Sesto in the southern Renaissance, an exhibition curated by Nicola Barbatelli, Director of the Museum of the Ancient People of Lucania. A spread in the Southern Italy of the artistic movement closed to Leonardo is evidenced by the presence at the Museum of the Abbey of SS. Trinità of Cava de’ Tirreni of a polyptych monument painted by Cesare da Sesto, one of the most important interpreter in Southern Italy of the art of the master of Vinci. At the other location of the exhibition, the Complex of Santa Maria del Rifugio, will be hosted the Tavola lucana, a painting which depicts the face of a man with beard and hat, discovered by the scholar Nicola Barbatelli in a private collection of Salerno in 2009, of which the authorship is still in discussion.
