This volume is part of the prestigious collection “Infra Sculptores” where are published also the monographs of Tino di Camaino (2007) and Gregorio di Lorenzo (2010). Leonardo del Tasso was a central figure in the field of sculpture during second half of the fifteenth century, in Florence. Leonardo, was an influential representative of the Del Tasso family, a family of highly esteemed carvers in Florence. He was an eclectic clay, wood and marble sculptor and he was the author of Saint Sebastian (1500 ca) in the family tomb in Sant'Ambrogio on Florence. He was a close partner of Benedetto da Maiano, and he took over his workshop in via de' Servi with the remaining materials and works. Vasari mentions him in “Vite” and considers him a pupil of Andrea Sansovino. In his artistic path, that we first analyze in a catalogue raisonne, Leonardo reworked Benedetto da Maiano's works, he was influenced by Andrea Sansovino and was touched by Michelangelo's first work. The tome (30x24 cm, il. in a box, ill. b/w and colour) holds an artistic and historical profile of the sculptor and a file for each sculpture along with a specific photographic campaign.
