Summary: The Beautiful Tomb of Hierapolis in Phrygia is located in the north Necropolis just to the west of Frontinus Street outside the Byzantine Gate. It was first identified in the 1960s but more fragments of the sarcophagus were brought to light in various parts over the years. The podium, encircling wall and marble pavement are still in situ. Recent work allowed a reconstruction proposal. The present publication in Italian, with extensive Turkish summaries of chapters, presents the monument and the work done with color illustrations.
