Summary: This book adds a new chapter to our knowledge and appreciation of the Museum of Palazzo Davanzati thanks to a concept developed by the Director Brunella Teodori, who has planned this volume on ceramics as the first in a series on the museum’s collections. First section: the history of the museum from the beginning of the twentieth century to the present day, with specific focus on the ceramics collections over time. Second section: a topographic guide to the works on display with updated information and new attributions based on recent studies. Appendix: the history of the tableware collections told through the use of the ceramic objects over the centuries, with a short glossary.
